Hugh Jackman: ‘My wife hates gay rumours’

Hugh Jackman has revealed that his wife hates hearing rumours that he is gay. 

The actor, who was this week named the sexiest man alive by People magazine, said wife Deborra-Lee Furness often has to assure people that her husband is straight. 

“She said the most infuriating times would be in the bathroom because all she’d hear is: ‘Is he or isn’t he gay?’ ‘I don’t know, he’s married’. ‘Oh, who cares? I’m sure he’s gay’,” he told People. 

“She used to call out from the stall: ‘He’s not gay. I’m telling you he’s not.’ And there would be silence until someone said: ‘I think that’s his wife.’

‘X-Men‘ star Hugh Jackman says he and his best friend used to frequent the gay nightspots as teenagers so they could prey on unsuspecting girls.  

He said: “I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but I remember when I was about 19, me and my friend used to go to these dance parties which were 80 per cent gay guys, 18 per cent girls who were sick of heterosexual guys hitting on them, and then vultures like me and my mate.   

“We would go there until two in the morning, when the girls were really drunk and wishing they weren’t with 80 percent gay guys.   

“I’m the worst kind of straight guy. The leech! The vulture!”   

The actor was recently crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive and already has his eye on next year’s crown.   

He added to MTV: “I’m not resting, mate. I’m not a one-term winner here. I want two terms, three, four, something like that. Brad Pitt’s had two but never back-to-back. That’s my goal.”

The votes are in and Hugh Jackman has been chosen as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2008. 

His costar in the movie Australia, Nicole Kidman, said that “Women’s jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room.” 

His wife of 12 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, refers to his sexy 6 ft. 2 in. physique as “the Body of Doom – but I like what’s inside.” 

When Hugh told his wife that he had been selected as the sexiest man, her reply was “I could’ve told them that years ago! Obviously, Brad wasn’t available this year.” 

Just a few of the other men joining Hugh in this year’s list are Daniel Craig, Blair Underwood, Zac Efron, Ed Westwick, Michael Phelps, and Javier Bardem. 

Hugh is 40.

I Would Never Strip!

Zac Efron won’t be starring in Broadway play ‘Equus‘ because he is not “ballsy” enough. 

The ‘High School Musical‘ heartthrob was rumoured to be taking over from the New York show’s current star, ‘Harry Potter’ actor Daniel Radcliffe, but insists he hasn’t got the courage needed to strip off in front of a live audience. 

He told French website TeeMix: “Daniel was very ballsy. Oh wow, that is the wrong choice of word for that! He is very smart. I guess that was the fastest way to do it. 

“But I don’t know if I would do something edgy for the sake of doing something edgy, I think as I mature, so will my roles. I think it will come with time. I’m not going to do anything drastic.” 

He’s 21.

Zac Efron Uses What Oil???

Zac Efron is pretty and he wants to make sure he stays that way. In January the future Footloose star had his appendix removed leaving a surgery scar on his abdomen. Desperate to be rid of the scar, Efron has turned to emu oil to erase the evidence.


A source said: “Zac applies emu oil daily to a scar he got from his appendectomy earlier this year. He can’t handle having imperfect abs and the oil, which is made from the bird’s fat is said to fade scars. It is already working.”

Actor Daniel Radcliffe, who made his Broadway debut with ‘Equus’, has revealed that he wrote a series of raunchy letters to his male co-star Lorenzo Pisoni.

The ‘Harry Potter’ star, who plays a troubled young teen in Peter Shaffer’s psychological drama, also said that the duo got along well with each other, reports China Daily.

Daniel said: “We’re getting on very well indeed.

“I’ve written some really, really deeply sexual things on some of the cards I’ve given him for opening night. But just to wind him up, you know.”

Daniel further revealed that he would have loved to marry Lorenzo had he been a female or gay.

He said: “He’s a truly remarkable man. If I was gay or a female I’d just want to marry him.“

He’s gorgeous, and he’s really cool bloke as well.”

Entirely To Matilda

It has been revealed that Heath Ledger’s daughter Matilda Rose will inherit the late actor’s entire fortune – estimated to be around $17 million.

Ledger died in January of this year from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs – leaving behind his only daughter from his relationship with actress Michelle Williams.

Although the Brokeback Mountain star had written a will, it had not been updated since 2 years before the birth of his daughter in 2003 and named his parents and 3 sisters as the sole beneficiaries.

There had been speculation that Michelle Williams was set to lodge a claim for the money on Matilda’s behalf.

However Ledgers father Kim has now quashed the rumours by stating “There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.”

When Ledger’s will was drawn up it listed only around $75,000 in assets, but huge success and an Oscar nomination for his role in Brokeback Mountain saw this figure rise considerably.

Heaths final film role – as The Joker in The Dark Knight – has been tipped to receive a posthumous Oscar at the ceremony in February.

Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson, marry in Canada

Comedy actor Ryan Reynolds wed actress Scarlett Johansson this weekend, September 27th. The wedding ceremony took place at a remote wilderness retreat outside of Vancouver, B.C in Reynold’s native Canada. This is the first time either has been married.

Johansson and Reynolds have been dating since February of last year and announced their engagement a mere four months ago.

Us Weekly reported on its Web site Sunday that the small wedding took place at a resort outside Vancouver, British Columbia. Guests included Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson, the magazine said.

He’s 31. She’s 23.

Little Matilda Gets It All

Interesting development.

According to a new report, Heath Ledger's two-year-old daughter, Matilda, will inherit the entirety of the late Australian actor's estate, estimated to be worth $16.6 million.

Ledger had named his parents and sisters as the beneficiaries in his will, which was made before Matilda was born.

There had been speculation that Heath's ex and mother of Matilda, Michelle Williams, would lodge a claim on behalf of their daughter.

However, Heath's father Kim has just squashed the speculation and revealed that Matilda will inherit it all.

He told an Australian paper, "…Our family has gifted everything to Matilda."

That's what the actor would have wanted, right?

R.I.P.

Paul Newman has died.

The legendary actor and philanthropist died on Friday at the age of 83.

He lost a long, public battle with cancer, according to his representatives.

Mr. Newman generously gave hundreds of millions towards helping others during his lifetime. The Vice-Chairman of the thespian's charity, Newman's Own Foundation, issued the following statement to honor and celebrate one of Hollywood's greatest:

Paul Newman's craft was acting. His passion was racing. His love was his family and friends. And his heart and soul were dedicated to helping make the world a better place for all. Paul had an abiding belief in the role that luck plays in one's life, and its randomness. He was quick to acknowledge the good fortune he had in his own life, beginning with being born in America, and was acutely aware of how unlucky so many others were. True to his character, he quietly devoted himself to helping offset this imbalance. An exceptional example is the legacy of Newman's Own. What started as something of a joke in the basement of his home, turned into a highly-respected, multi-million dollar a year food company. And true to form, he shared this good fortune by donating all the profits and royalties he earned to thousands of charities around the world, a total which now exceeds $250 million. While his philanthropic interests and donations were wide-ranging, he was especially committed to the thousands of children with life-threatening conditions served by the Hole in the Wall Camps, which he helped start over 20 years ago. He saw the Camps as places where kids could escape the fear, pain and isolation of their conditions, kick back, and raise a little hell. Today, there are 11 Camps around the world, with additional programs in Africa and Vietnam. Through the Camps, well over 135,000 children have had the chance to experience what childhood was meant to be.
